GSB starts the New Year with a traditional New Year’s reception

Mainz, 22nd of January, 2024 - GSB Mainz traditionally started this year with its festive New Year's reception. Those responsible were pleased that the winter weather did not deter the members of the GSB and that over 250 guests from all 22 previous study years of the Executive MBA course as well as the previous three study years of the MBA course, the fourth year starting in March and Lecturers from both courses and members of the GSB advisory board accepted the invitation to the Gaul's event location in Mainz Laubenheim.

In his welcoming speech, Professor Franz Rothlauf, in his role as academic director of the GSB, took the opportunity to review the eventful past year and give an outlook on what is to come. In particular, he once again emphasized the great success in the major re-accreditation process carried out in the first half of the year, in which both study programs were awarded the premium seal by FIBAA for their outstanding quality. The Young Professional MBA, which will only be called MBA when this year's course starts in March, is also continuing to develop very positively. With a fundamental reorganization and the future implementation of the Executive MBA course in online format, the GSB is responding to the changed demand behavior in the executive sector.

Furthermore, the reception provided again the appropriate setting for the awarding of the teaching prizes for outstanding teaching achievements at the GSB in 2023, which was presented by Professor Andrej Gill, also academic director of the GSB. The award was given to the best teaching achievements from the previous year, which resulted from the results of the participant evaluations of each course. Of the lecturers in the Executive MBA course, Professor Michèle Morner, Dr. Klaus Daniel and Dominik Maier are happy about the teaching award. In the Young Professional MBA course, the teaching award went to Professor Florian Hett and Nicolas Bertholet for the second time in a row, who was also able to accept it in person. Furthermore, Dr. Tobias Waldenmaier was honored for his excellent teaching performance. Professor Gill congratulated the award winners on behalf of the entire GSB team and thanked them for the very good, close and trusting cooperation. He emphasized that the lecturers, with their excellent teaching, played an important role in the long-standing success of the GSB.

Family and friends of the GSB enjoyed the rest of the evening in a relaxed atmosphere with good food, wine, stimulating conversations and were happy to see their fellow students every year.
