Mainz, 9th of January 2024 – Following the award of the FIBAA Premium Seal to the two GSB degree programs as part of the latest accreditation process by FIBAA, the Vice President for Studies and Teaching at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Professor Stephan Jolie, together with the two Academic Directors of the Gutenberg School of Business Mainz (GSB), Professor Andrej Gill and Professor Franz Rothlauf, as well as Managing Director Dr. Stefanie Klossok, accepted the premium seals.
Vice President Jolie praised the excellent performance of GSB Mainz's degree programs in the most recent accreditation process by FIBAA: "The decision of the FIBAA Accreditation and Certification Commission to award both MBA programs at GSB Mainz and thus the entire range of courses offered by GSB with the FIBAA Premium Seal documents the outstanding quality and excellence in in-service academic continuing education, in particular for management and management students. Thus, this success of our two MBAs is not a short-term snapshot: This is the result of many years of experience in the conception, organization, implementation and implementation and, in particular, needs-based further development of part-time MBA programs at the Faculty of Law and Economics."
On the one hand, the study formats of the GSB are characterized by the continuous adaptation of content to current and future-oriented topics in the economy as well as an organizational flexibility in the implementation of the courses of study that takes into account the special needs of working participants in order to ensure a high degree of studyability. On the other hand, the GSB takes into account certain principles that are consistently implemented in the degree programmes and that are also decisive for the successful performance of the GSB in the most recent accreditation process. For example, only renowned experts in their field teach at the GSB, who, in addition to their proven technical expertise, also have extensive experience in executive teaching and consistently establish practical relevance on a scientific basis. In contrast, the GSB only admits participants to the MBA programs who, due to their personal characteristics, are able to successfully complete an MBA program at university master's level. This claim stems not least from the fact that GSB is an integral part of the Faculty of Law and Economics and thus of JGU, which is also fulfilling its legal mandate to create academic continuing education with this continuing education program.
In her letter of congratulations, Christina Weng, Head of FIBAA's Division for National Accreditation Procedures, conveyed her congratulations and praised the two degree programs: "The two part-time MBA Master's programs at the Gutenberg School of Business (GSB) Mainz are of above-average quality. During the on-site assessment, the panel of experts gained a positive overall impression of the quality of the study. In particular, the teaching staff is characterized by high qualifications, practical relevance and commitment. In addition, students also emphasized the commitment of the administrative and organizational team of the two degree programs very positively. The course directors and the management of the business school have succeeded in distinguishing the two MBA programs from each other. The curriculum content is up-to-date and also deals with topics such as sustainability and digitalization. GSB Mainz maintains close contacts with companies in the region. It has carried out an in-depth analysis of the labour market relevant to graduates and has taken the results of this analysis into account in the design of the degree programme. The diverse professional backgrounds of the students in both courses of study are an added value. In the opinion of the panel of experts, their exchange of experience in the obligatory face-to-face seminars enriches the course content. The fireside chats with company representatives and the modules abroad are very much appreciated by the students. The high level of student satisfaction and the strong networking character of the two MBA programs is reflected not least in the independent founding of the alumni association by former students."
