The law and economics departments at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (JGU) have achieved excellent rankings in various areas in the current CHE University Ranking, which was published today in the new ZEIT Study Guide 2023/24.

The CHE ranking has been conducted by the Center for Hochschulentwickung since 1998, and more than 300 universities and universities of applied sciences were examined for the current survey. In this year's survey round, the law and economics departments at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz actively participated. The CHE Ranking does not produce traditional rankings, but rather reports the results of a student survey using ratings of up to five stars and classifies other key figures into top, middle and bottom groups.

In the student survey, law achieved at least four stars in 9 out of 16 areas and economics in 9 out of 14 areas surveyed. JGU does particularly well in both subjects in the area of study organization.

JGU also achieves very good results in other indicators in the area of study. Business and Economics placed among the national leaders in terms of the indicators "support at the beginning of studies" and "graduation in a reasonable time (bachelor's degree)." In addition, JGU also performs above average in a national comparison with regard to Business Administration for the indicator "Graduations in a reasonable time (Master's)" and with regard to Law for the indicator "Exam preparation".
